Why Should You Use Paid Search Ads, or Pay Per Click...besides gaining new customers, added profits, and making life easier, etc?

Ok, so this is about paid search ads, but the title makes it sound like I'm a wise guy. Or if you're British you might say I'm being cheeky.

But I still have to ask the question, "Want to get your business message in front of new consumers and get fast results?" Paid search ads, commonly known as pay per click, put your business in front of buyers quickly.

Here's the story...

In 2006, each month saw 2.7 billion online searches. By 2009 searches skyrocketed to 32 billion each month. That means in just three short years the number of people searching the internet for products, services, and information blasted upward at an 1100% increase.

In other words, your paid search ads can be put in front of a huge audience of people, many of whom research a product or service before they purchase.

They search the web for a variety of reasons that can open the door for new customers for your business.

For instance, people want to know about events in their area. Does your business have entertainment, classes, or exhibits these searchers would like? Others search for local services such as dry cleaners, lawn care, and restaurants. Some search specifically for new and used products to buy. People plan their vacations with searches for interesting content about the local area and attractions, motels, and meals. And, of course, people search for other people.

The list could probably go on indefinitely.

Google thrives on paid search ads and calls their program AdWords.

Simply put, the Adwords program allows you to bid on how much you'll pay. The paid search ads appear on the top and right side of the search results. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad. That's why it's called pay per click.

Depending on your keywords, some bids could be dimes while others go for many dollars. You can set up a daily budget so you don't go broke overnight.

Just remember, this shift toward the internet corresponds to an equal shift away from traditional forms of consumer information such as radio, TV, newspapers, and the Yellow Pages. That has caused some serious ripples in the marketing industry bottom line.

This trend shifting toward the internet has the attention of savvy marketers. A recent survey of 204 marketers show that 60% of them planned to increase their spending on online marketing by taking the money away from traditional ad sources.

The concern every small business must face in the next few years is whether to lead in this new marketing arena, or be left behind. In this case, to not decide to be the leader automatically becomes the decision to remain in the shadows.

If you feel you're ready to get started but don't have time to learn this for yourself, then I recommend AdzZoo. Their paid search ads and additional service is set on a flat fee cheaper than I can do it for, yet have superior results.
